Project Description

  • Main page (homepage) must be named index.html
  • Main page must have a link to all other pages and all other pages must have a link back to the homepage
  • Each page must contain a unique, descriptive title describing the content of the page (using HTML title tags)
  • All pages must contain a common footer containing links to important areas of the site (e.g. copyright page, terms of use, privacy policy, etc.) Pages in the footer may link back to the index.html page or you may build out these pages, but pages listed in the footer will not count as part of the number of Web pages needed for the Web site.
  • Each page must have an appropriate background color or graphic, other than white, and at least four font (text) colors, other than black, must be used within the site (the colors used must be presentable and cannot interfere with reading the pages)
  • At least one instance of bold and one instance of italics must be used within the site
  • At least one horizontal rule must be used within the site
  • At least one ordered list and one unordered list must be used within the site
  • At least four images must be used within the site (all image tags must use the image attributes: alt, height, and width; and be free-to-use images or cited correctly if legally borrowed). Images must be stored in an images sub-directory.
  • At least two images must be hyperlinked to an internal or external page. Images must be stored in an images sub-directory.
  • At least one page must contain a link to your e‐mail address.
  • Web site must contain a total of at least six links to other web pages (external links) to at least six different domains
  • At least one page must use an anchor tag to link to a specific section on that page
  • At least one page must contain a table (you may use it to display tabular data or to layout the page).
  • At least four pages must contain a CSS-based layout with one or more external style sheets. (you may not use tables to format the layout). Style sheets must be stored in a styles sub-directory. The pages must follow specific CSS guidelines and have been validated by the World Wide Web Consortium against the CSS Level 2.1 profile and include a link to the W3C CSS validator for that page
  • All pages must follow specific HTML guidelines and have been validated by the World Wide Web Consortium as HTML 5 and include a link to the W3C HTML validator for that page
  • Strong overall layout, design, and usability, making certain that:
    • each page is easy to navigate
    • the text is of a size, color, and style that is easy to read
    • text and graphic placement is visually appealing (use correct aspect ratio: the graphics should not appear squished or stretched)
    • each page loads reasonably fast
    • each page has unifying elements that make the pages seem that they belong together in one cohesive Web site all pages are well-written, using proper spelling, grammar, and sentence construction
