Description: Write a pow(x, y) function in MIPS assembly, such that pow(x,y) computes xy.

To receive full credit, your program should meet all of the following criteria:

  • A main function that:
    • Prompts the user for a number and an exponent
    • Calls pow using the jal instruction
    • Display return value from the pow(x, y) function
  • A pow(x, y) function that:
    • Computes the proper result based on input parameters
    • Returns properly using the jr instruction
  • Overall, the program should:
    • Follows MIPS register usage conventions
    • Contain code that is organized, easy to read, and properly commented
