For this assignment, you need to design and develop a travel guide website using HTML5. Your website contains information on travel to your favorite destination during the pandemic. The content could include a brief description of the destination, things to do, places to visit, the effect of the pandemic on the city, how the city responded to Covid-19, and if the city is ready to welcome the visitors.

The purpose of this assignment is to practice web development skills by creating an online travel guide that can be shared with others through another assignment.

How to start:

  • Select your favorite travel destination
  • Decide on the content you want to present on your website and do some research
  • Gather everything you need for your content including the text and images you want to add to your website
  • Organize and save all the files related to your content in one folder, name each file properly (e.g. texts files, images, videos, etc.) and name your folder as: 'Lastname_FirstName_TravelGuide'
  • Start by creating an HTML document for your homepage and name it index.html

Minimum Requirements:

You will be designing and developing a Travel Guide website using HTML5. Your website must include:

  • A Homepage. Your homepage can include anything you would like to present about your favorite destination. At least it includes:
    • appropriate headings
    • paragraph(s)
    • an embedded interactive Google map showing the destination
    • an image
    • list of top attractions (minimum of 3)
    • link to your subpage
  • At least one Subpage. A subpage can include information on how the city responded to Covid-19 that includes hyperlink(s) to the guidelines posted by the local authorities.
    • Each subpage must also have a HOME button that brings the users back to your homepage
  • Your website must be created using the following HTML elements:
    • Title Element (Your website must include appropriate page titles for each page. These titles display at the top of the browser when users view your pages)
    • HTML Heading Element (you may use any level of HTML headings based on your website format)
    • Paragraph Element
    • Image Element (at least one image must be present on each page)
    • Anchor Elements (both absolute and relative hyperlinks)
    • Absolute links must open in a new tab
    • HTML Lists (you may use either unordered/ordered list)

IMPORTANT!!!!!!!! - All of your files (word, picture, text, video, etc) that support a webpage MUST be in the same folder as the HTML files. Therefore, if you want to use a picture on your website and the picture is located on a different directory, it must be copied into the folder where all other HTML files are located.
